Scoliosis

Today, the love of my life is having surgery. Never in a million years, did I ever believe, she'd be going under a knife. The scoliosis was found by my play uncle, in Arizona. Uncle Ron, to be exact- that man is a genius, in his own special way. One day he gave Mackenzie the direction to bend over and touch her toes- and she did. As soon as she was half way bent- it was a horrifying view. Just stunned, visualizing the deformity- the abnormality- the "difference"- the "not normal" spine, immediately sickened. Sick at the fact that scoliosis checks aren't recommended during pre school ages. However, lucky to know at an early age- we sought medical attention immediately. At the age of ten, she faces reality of scoliosis.
what is scoliosis exactly? It's a condition in which the spine curves - the cause our little one is unknown at this time. Early on, doctors orginially wanted to do a study on her but due to her age, she isn't qualified. Had she been eight, she would have been a perfect age.
The thought process during surgery
Knowing she's in great hands of great surgeon; I find myself being at ease and comfortable. Over-exaggerating the foreshadowed scene, leaves me giggling over and over again. When choosing your child's doctor/ surgeon, review the doctors grade - research the amount of surgeries completed, how many deaths, paralysis or complications during or after surgeries. These very things may determine how you pick and choose doctors so here's a virtual zanax to calm your nerves.

After Surgery
Dr Rahm comes in around 1430 explaining how surgery went, which was very well. She no longer has a curved spine or an "S" on her chest; however she is still super girl, and still will bend- but will not break. At this time, her face is the only face that we are anxious to see. Here is an after photo.
